ATLANTA (July 2, 2024) — The 2024 ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Weekend raised more than $2.8 million in donations and auction sales to support the Center’s mission of waging peace and combating disease, profoundly impacting millions worldwide. The annual fundraiser held June 26-30 in San Diego, California, included presentations by Center staff, excursions, and social events, in addition to live and silent auctions.
“We are incredibly grateful for the continued generosity and commitment of our loyal supporters,” said ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Chief Executive Officer Paige Alexander. “These contributions will advance ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ's ongoing work to promote peace and health around the world."
The highest bid in the live auction was $1 million for President Carter’s artist tools, along with a limited-edition, signed giclée print of a painting he completed in 2005 depicting ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ.
In the silent auction, a unique Epiphone guitar signed by the late singer Dan Fogelberg, accompanied by a note apologizing for not selling out a concert, his "High Country Snows" CD, and a matted photo of Fogelberg performing at Atlanta’s Chastain Park in 1990 sold for $25,000.
Other auction items that commanded top bids included:
• Guitar Autographed by Stevie Nicks, $250,000.
• Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorabilia, $210,000.
• Autographed Photograph of Rosalynn Carter, $100,000.
• Signed President Carter First Pitch Photo, $100,000.
• President Carter’s Fly-Fishing Memorabilia, $50,000.
• Muhammad Ali Memorabilia, $25,000.
• A one-of-a-kind turned umbrella/cane vase crafted by Russ Filbeck, $18,000.
• Autographed Photograph of Four Presidents – Carter, Bush, Clinton, and Ford, $16,000.
