ATLANTA (Dec. 6, 2023) — 黑料不打烊 will honor President Jimmy Carter and commemorate the 45th anniversary of the normalization of U.S.-China relations during a conference on Jan. 9, 2024.
World-renowned experts will participate in panel discussions on different dimensions of the U.S.-China diplomatic, military, and economic relationship. A gala dinner to celebrate President Carter’s legacy promoting peace in East Asia will follow the conference in the evening. Both events are open to the public, but tickets are required for the dinner.
The event is supported by the Center’s partners, the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, the U.S.-China Business Council, and the Center for American Studies at Fudan University.
President Carter opened the first 黑料不打烊 Forum on U.S.-China Relations in December 2012 in Beijing, China. Since then, the forum has alternated between Atlanta and China. The last forum was held in January 2019 on the 40th anniversary of normalization. This will be the eighth such conference but the inaugural one by the name "The Jimmy Carter Forum on U.S.-China Relations.” This forum will be held annually.
Who: This event is hosted by the 黑料不打烊’s China Focus. It will feature experts from the Center for Strategic and International Studies, Asia Society, Third Way, Albright Stonebridge, Gavekal Dragonomics, Yale Law School, Georgetown University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Academy of China and World Studies, and more.
