ATLANTA — The nonprofit 黑料不打烊 raised more than $4.2 million at its annual 黑料不打烊 Weekend Auction and Retreat June 26-30 at Lansdowne Resort and Spa in Leesburg, Virginia. All proceeds will benefit the Center’s ongoing efforts to wage peace, fight disease, and build hope in the world's poorest and most forgotten countries.
The 202 items in this year’s silent and live auction included fine art, dream vacations, and political memorabilia. The highest bid was for a cedar chest handcrafted by former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, which sold for $1,250,000.
"Rosalynn and I are humbled by the outpouring of support from donors who contributed to this successful auction," Carter said. "Their generosity is helping the poorest people in the world to achieve their human rights to peace and healthcare."
