In case you missed “Waging Peace in Turbulent Times” on April 13, 2017, an archived webcast of this event can be viewed below.

Hear from two of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s Peace Program directors, Hrair Balian of the Conflict Resolution Program and Jennie Lincoln of the Latin American and Caribbean Program, as they discuss the efforts the Center is undertaking to wage peace in the two countries ravaged by violent conflict: Colombia and Syria.

This conversation specifically engages the issues that the Center is currently tackling. What does the Colombian peace accord with FARC, signed last year, entail for the country, especially when it is not supported by many citizens? What does the recent chemical attack mean for Syrian peace efforts? Is there hope to bringing an end to the 6-year conflict? Ultimately, how can the Center best fulfill its mission of waging peace and building hope across the globe in today’s turbulent times?

Panelists included:

  • Hrair Balian, director of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s Conflict Resolution Program
  • Jennie Lincoln, director of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s Latin American and Caribbean Program
  • Jay Bookman, columnist at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, who served as a moderator
